Comic Relief Hackathon

The aim of the day is to create a fun application that promotes Comic Relief – in whatever way you want.  Obvious rules apply (no pornography, swearing, alcohol, copyright infringement etc), but otherwise let the creative juices flow.

Agenda:

9am – Briefing followed by team brainstorms
12pm ‐ 12.30am – Judges will be on hand to check feasibility of ideas
10.30 – 4:30pm – Design and Coding
4:30pm – 5pm Apps submitted to judges for testing and evaluation
5.00pm – 5.40pm – teams present their app in turn to the judges (x factor style judge comments and scores)
6.00pm – Winner is announced!

Comic Relief Media!

Your applications will be able to make use of Comic Relief branding and media, including:

- Logos

- Fonts

- Style guides

- Video assets

- Red nose asset

- Image assets

If your application plans to encourage users to make direct donations to Comic Relief, payments must go direct to Comic Relief. You can do this by setting up PayPal payments direct to paypalfb@comicrelief.com.

Prizes

There is a ton of publicity waiting for the winner of the contest, starting with presenting their application at the Facebook Developer Garage in March, a report to Techfluff, and plenty of press releases to journalists and blogs. In collaboration with AdKnowledge, the winning application will also be provided with free seeding.

Hosting

Hosting of your apps is graciously provided by the guys over at Everycity, the guys will also be onsite to offer support to the teams. You’ll also be able to host your app after the event, hosting included!

Food and drink will be provided during the day.
